About Steve Hayes

I’m Steve Hayes, the General Manager of Oxendale Construction, and I’ve spent over two decades in the construction industry. I didn’t take the college route—I started on job sites pushing a broom and moving 2x4s. I worked my way up through the ranks, and I’m proud of that. The hands-on experience I’ve gained over the years has been worth more than any degree could give me. I know how to get things done because I’ve been in the field, and I wear that as a badge of honor.

My Journey: For a while, I thought I had things figured out, but coming to Northern Arizona made me realize what I was really looking for: a grassroots approach to construction, built on old-school values. The way people work here—with integrity, skill, and hands-on craftsmanship—lines up with what construction is truly about.

I’ve worked with cutting-edge construction technologies—digital modeling, laser scanning, and all that. They’re useful tools, but if there’s one thing they’ve taught me, it’s this: computers don’t build buildings. The real work gets done by the people who know what they’re doing and take pride in their craft.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors or playing sports. And if you’re looking for someone to keep you updated on the game… well, that’s not me. I’d rather be out there playing than glued to the TV.

Why Work With Me? If you’re a subcontractor who knows your trade and wants to be part of projects where your skills will be respected and put to good use, let’s talk. We’ve got work lined up, and I’m looking for the best to help get it done. If you’re serious about the future and serious about construction, you’re in the right place.
